Hot Hatha Flow Open (heat)
Esencia’s popular Hot Yoga  class based on Bikram focuses on improving strength, enhancing flexibility and challenging your own areas of physical and emotional resistance through the incorporation of a heated classroom. By regularly practicing our Hot Yoga sequence of postures and pranayama breathing exercises, you’ll find you will grow in mind, body and soul. Yogis of all ages and experience levels are welcome to open their heart with us.



Taking the basic principle of “Vinyasa” (Synchronization of breath and movement) from Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, is a modern style of yoga that emphasizes the rhythmic and coordinated transition from one posture to the next. This dynamic style of yoga aims mainly to increase lung capacity through breath regulation and to strengthen the physical body. At the same time, Vinyasa Yoga is surprisingly soothing and restorative for many kinds of physical conditions. By working externally on the physical body as one whole unit, as opposed to segmenting each part, we can begin to start tapping into the subtle (pranic) body to balance the energetic flow.

Fundamentals Beginner focus (no heat)
Esencia’s Fundamentals class is for anyone new to yoga, those more experienced students wishing to reinforce the foundations of their practice and yogis looking to rehabilitate from injury. We explore the sequence at a slower pace than our Hatha flow class, placing emphasis on learning the correct alignment for each posture and building strength and flexibility. The Fundamentals class is set at room temperature. 

Sacred Music Intermediate focus (heat)
Esencia’s Sacred Music class is an hour long heated Hatha flow sequence. Set to inspirational music, this class allows students to enjoy an established sequence of postures without verbal instruction or discussion breaks. We recommend that yogis attend at least one Hatha flow class prior to joining us for our end of the week Sacred Music practice.

Yoga Trapeze

A suspension yoga system great for back pain, core strength, functional upper body strength, and balance. Most of the yoga clients are  looking to relieve back pain, relieve stress, improve their grip and core strength.  Yoga trapeze is a beautiful tool to facilitate inversion therapy, or in simpler terms – release and rejuvenate our back. Statistics show that 80% of the population will have a back pain issue at some point in their life. Obtain more upper body strength thru pulling action not found in traditional yoga MAT classes. Also Open up the thoracic vertbrae and lengthen space between L4,L5 & S1 Neutral traction.

Esencia Yoga Spa offers a 200 Hour Teacher Training program with a Yoga Alliance recognized Course Curriculum. Upon successful completion of the course, students qualify to register with Yoga Alliance. Please email for dates and pricing

Melinda Marino E-RYT 500- Melinda has been studying yoga since 1994.  In 1997 she was invited to teach Bikram Hatha yoga at the Yoga College of India, which was ranked as the #1 yoga school in the United States and taught there for ten years.  She taught three classes a day five days a week, which gave her the opportunity to teach over one hundred and fifty students per day.  She also taught for Jimmy Barkan’s Teacher training program.  She is also qualified in HOT yoga and Vinyasa yoga.  Melinda taught at Yoga Connection’s inception in Florida for 5 years before re-locating to Mexico.  She came to yoga from an Aikido martial arts background where she sustained several serious injuries.  Looking for a way to rehabilitate her injuries, Melinda turned to therapeutic hot yoga where she successfully rehabilitated her back and knee.  As a result she has a compassionate understanding for people with injuries.  She specializes in private therapeutic rehabilitative yoga classes. She has also taught yoga at some of the most famous resorts in the world, namely Turnbery Isle Resort and Fisher Island Resort and Spa Golf and country clubs.  These resorts have older members where she had the opportunity to develop a commpassionate excellence at encouraging them to do yoga to the best of their abilities.  She has been teaching group and private classes in San Miguel de Allende since 2005 and has a loyal following.  Melinda is known for her ability to inspire her students to be the best that they can be physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually one day at a time.


Jenny  Kerns  E-RYT 300- I started my practice of yoga on my own since childhood, with yoga books as a reference. Completed my first RYT-100 Yoga Alliance training / certification through Resource Associates in 2000 and have been teaching yoga since then, mainly in Massachusetts in the Adirondack Club in Franklin, MA and more recently in Vero Beach, Florida at the Garden Grove House Community club.  Completed teacher training Yoga Alliance RYT-200 in 2012, through Yoga Works in yoga studio in Newton, MA, with Natasha Rizopoulos as my teacher-trainer. I was very fortunate to meet and have closer ties with the teacher trainers, as Rizopoulos and local instructor Boston, Baron Baptiste, while living in that area.

Al Toth RYT 200-Al has been teaching yoga for 15 years accumulating over 1700 hours of teaching experience. He began practicing yoga in 2000 and started teaching in 2003.  He received his 200 hour yoga teacher training from Kathy Lee Kappmeier, founder of YogaWell in San Diego, CA. He regularly attends yoga conferences in the USA and has studied with both B.K.S. Iyengar and Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois.  He taught for 5 years in San Diego, CA., Moving South he taught for 5 years in Cusco, Peru.  Now in San Miguel de Allende he teaches a Vinyasa style class,  mixed with Ashtanga Power and  Iyengar alignment.   Al teaches to the students he has in the class at that moment adapting to all levels. 

He is also a Certified Fitness Instructor and Personal Fitness Trainer (AFAA).  Additionally, working as an Outdoor Wilderness Guide at San Diego State University, He led Yoga/Rock-climbing Retreats to Joshua Tree National Park for 4 years.  Soon to become a certified Yoga Trapeze teacher 2019.



DeLora RYT 500-DeLora has taken extensive training to teach yoga to students at all stages of life. She has completed 500 hr trainings in Kundalini and Hatha,  Sadie Nardini's Evolution Vinyasa Teacher Training, Specialized Pelvic Floor Training with Leslie Howard,Yoga Therapy certification, Injury Prevention, Pre/postnatal, Children’s, and Restorative. For children's yoga, DeLora graduated from the renowned Radiant Child Yoga Program, Levels One and Two. She also completed Prenatal & Postnatal Training with Om Mama’s Leslie Lytle and completed Sue Elkind’s Anusara Prenatal Training - A Time to Align. She has studied extensively with Judith Lasater, completing both Relax and Renew Restorative and The Spine.  She has also been heavily influenced by  Leslie Kaminoff, completely numerous anatomy courses with him as well as Paul Grilley, Mark Uridel, and Gil Hedley. She is also a certified Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

She has designed and taught Adaptive, Children’s, Therapeutic Yoga for the Pelvic Floor, and Pre and Postnatal courses.  Her specialties are anatomy, alignment in asana for injury prevention,  yoga therapy for the low back, pelvic floor, anxiety and  insomnia. 

DeLora's classes utilize pranayama and meditation to support students with the physical, mental and spiritual challenges they face daily. Students find a strong anatomy component in her classes with an emphasis on self awareness. Finding space in the body for breath becomes the foundation of a safe and freeing practice – opening up to the possibilities on and off the mat.
